SEYMOUR, CT: Doris M. Tkacz, 98 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest July 25, 2013 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; she was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Morris Tkacz. Mrs. Tkacz was born April 8, 1915 in Derby, daughter of the late James W. and Laura Mae (Pettibone) Morgan. Doris was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she also belonged to the ECW, the Altar Guild, and was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Doris retired from the former Seymour Lumber Company as the Bookkeeper. She was an excellent swimmer and had earned her Red Cross Certification as a Life Guard; she enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren to swim. Doris loved to sew and crochet; play cards and Bingo. She was also a member of the Seymour Senior Center.

Doris leaves her loving family including her son Thomas Tkacz and three daughters, Debra Mullen and her husband Kevin, Maureen Radcliffe, and Nancy Savignano all of Seymour, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson Tommy, and a son-in-law Richard Radcliffe, daughter-in-law Marie Tkacz, and siblings Edward, James, and Fritz Morgan, and Charlotte Schuppien and Mildred Taylor.

Funeral services in celebration of Doris' life will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church (DIRECTLY), 91 Church St., Seymour for a service of Requiem Eucharist. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Calling Hours are from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service at the church.
