Life Story for Helen Marie "Marie" Donofrio

Helen  Marie "Marie"  Donofrio
SEYMOUR, CT: Helen "Marie" Donofrio, age 78 of Seymour, formerly of Oxford and Ansonia, she went home to the Lord on January 27, 2014 in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip S. Donofrio, Sr. Mrs. Donofrio was born March 1,1935 in East Lyme, daughter of the late William and Alice (Osborne) Schreiber. Marie will be forever remembered as "a friend to even the friendless". She worked in home health care, and catering. She was a member of Grace Christian Community Church, and was a member of the Ansonia Eagles Club where she was named a Mother of the Year. Marie enjoyed world travel, music, especially yodeling and listening to Elvis Presley. She was a wonderful host and cook, and took great joy in touching the lives of many by sending them cards. Her thoughtfulness for others preceded her.

Marie leaves her loving family including her sons, Philip S. Donofrio, Jr. (Carol) of Seymour, and Nicholas S. Donofrio of Santa Cruz, CA, and daughters, Lynn M, McPhail of Hamden, and Laurie A. Stewart-Rider (Ron) of Watsonville, CA; her brothers, Arthur Schreiber of West Marland, NH, and Thomas Schreiber of Ashfield, MA; her sisters, Lucy Disthert of Jobstown, NJ, Nancy Tuccio of Shelton, and Peggy Crowther of Oxford; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her daughter Dawn M. Donofrio and her sister, Idella Schmidt predeceased her.

Calling Hours are Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Funeral Services in celebration of Marie's life will be Friday at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
