Life Story for John Meyer Eighmie

John Meyer  Eighmie
SEYMOUR, CT: John M. Eighmie age 91 of Seymour entered peaceful rest January 28, 2014 in New Haven; he was the beloved husband of 67 years to Fiore (Rota) Eighmie. Mr. Eighmie was born February 28, 1922 in Beeckman, NY, son of the late Richard and Sena (Knapp) Eighmie. He was retired from the Casting Shop from the former Bridgeport Brass Co. in Seymour where he was employed from 1944 - 1983. John was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran serving with the 378th Port Company. He was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and a member of the Aurora Council #52 Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Emil Senger Post 10, American Legion.

John leaves his loving family including his daughter, Joan Eighmie Rinkewith (Jacy), and his son, Thomas Eighmie (Barbara) all of Seymour, his grandchildren, Jonathan Rinkewith, Joshua Eighmie, Elizabeth Rinkewith Marcucio, and Sarah Brousseau (Mark), and great grandchildren, A.J. Marcucio and Parker Brousseau. His brothers, Harold, Earl, Ralph, and sisters, Eleanor DeBarber, and Mary Terwillinger predeceased him.

Calling Hours are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour. Funeral Services are Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m., with full Military Honors to follow.
