Mrs. Dawn (Lewis) Turschmann, 89 of Derby passed away May 29, 2014 peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Edward F. Turschmann, Sr. She was born on May 2,1925 in Towanda, PA. Dawn loved to knit and crochet and enjoyed keeping her mind sharp with word search puzzles. She was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed her summers camping at Witch Meadow Lake Campground. She worked for many years at Valley Dress in Ansonia as a seamstress. She retired from
Phillips Medical. She is survived by her 5 children, Edward F. Turschmann, Jr. and his wife Linda of Beverly Hills, FL, Donna J. Curtiss and her husband Richard of Oxford, Robert J. Turschmann and his wife Ellen of Ansonia, Mary H. Troiano and her husband Michael of Lake Worth, FL and Thomas R. Turschmann and wife Anne of Ramona, CA, 4 Granddaughters, Jamie Thom of Windsor, Bonnie Schoening and her husband Brian of Quakertown, PA, Bobbie-Lynn Reska and her husband Michael of Groton, and Lori Spillane and her husband James of Tariffville, 3 Grandsons, Edward F. Turschmann, III and his wifeTracy of Hamden, Matthew Turschmann of Ansonia and Mark Troiano and his wife Mollie of St. Augustine, FL. She also leaves behind 3 Great Grandchildren, The apple of her eye, Michael James Reska and also Gavin and Kyley Turschmann. She is survived by her brother Joseph Lewis and his wife Bonnie, her sister-in-law Meryl Lewis (who was like a sister to her) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her brother Francis Lewis and her sister Jeanne Baldwin and her granddaughter Elaine Marie Libby and grandson James Edward Thom. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 2 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment to follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. Calling Hours will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
