OXFORD CT – Katherine Marie Hylinski, age 59, of Oxford, beloved wife of Gary Hylinski Sr., suddenly passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 14, 1955, she was a daughter of the late David and Edna (Moran) Strachan. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Katherine’s children were her life and she cherished spending time with her very special grandson, Jake. She was a confidant who always showed profound love for all, never missing an event or family outing. Katherine also enjoyed the beach and traveling. In addition to her husband of 40 years and grandson, survivors include her loving sons, Gary Hylinski Jr. and his husband David Alagille of Woodbridge, and Michael Hylinski and his wife Lori of Oxford; brothers, David Strachan of Waterbury, Alexander (Sandy) Strachan and his wife April of Oxford; sisters, April Vournelis and her husband Ioannis of Naugatuck, Donna Podpolucha and her husband Frank of Shelton, and Bonnie Sondergaard and her husband David of New Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will take place Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11 am directly in Christ Church, 470 Quaker Farms Rd., Oxford.
