Life Story for Antonio Furfaro

SEYMOUR, CT: Antonio Furfaro, Sr. age 90 of Seymour entered peaceful rest on February 1, 2016 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Palmieri) Furfaro. Mr. Furfaro was born January 1, 1926 in Seymour, son of the late Frank and Giovanna "Jennie" (Calipa) Furfaro. Antonio was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran, with the rank of T-4 Sergeant, and had fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Furfaro was a retired Foreman and Leadman having worked at the former Hull Dye Co., and Sikorsky Aircraft. He was a member of the John H. Collins Post 24 American Legion, Derby and the D.A.V.

In addition to his wife, Antonio leaves his loving family, including his sons, Antonio Furfaro, Jr. of Palm Bay, FL, and Frank Furfaro of Clermont, FL, a daughter, Deborah Ann Stronkowsky of Morris; his sisters, Clara Amodio of Jacksonville, FL, and Frances Tuckett of Seymour; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Calling Hours are Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ion the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Graveside Service with full Military Honors will be at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Rd., Seymour also on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Memorial Gifts may be sent to Disabled American Veterans, 63 Smith St, Derby, CT 06418.
