Obituary for Arlene Marie Freeman (Paquette)

Arlene Marie Freeman, age 59 of Seymour, beloved wife of Gary Freeman, entered into peaceful rest on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Griffin Hospital. Born in Norwich on February 21, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ella (Goulet) Paquette.

Arlene was passionate in her work as a registered nurse for Norwalk Hospital. She was an avid gardener, swimmer, baker/cooker and bird-watcher who loved animals and being outdoors, especially around water and particularly, Rhode Island beaches. Arlene was not afraid to speak her mind and will be remembered not only as a goofball who enjoyed dancing and getting others to dance, but also, most importantly, as a loving and caring friend who would never hesitate to help others in any way she could.

In addition to her husband of 32 years, Arlene is survived by her cherished children, Amanda (Carlos Davila), Meredith, and Scott Freeman of Seymour; her parents-in-law, Arthur and Geraldine Freeman of Huntington, CT; her surrogate family, the late Arthur Thibeault and his wife Theresa of Baltic, CT; and their children, Mickey, Marie, Amy, and Jim. She will also be missed by her four cats and two dogs. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Charles and Eva Goulet.

Funeral Services will take place Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11 am in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Family and friends are welcome to visit with the family from 9:30 am until the time of services. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Willimantic Rd. (Rt. 207) Sprague, CT DIRECTLY at 2:30 pm. At Arleneā€™s request, those attending her services are asked not to dress in black.
