Life Story for Joetta D. Fredericks (D'Andrea)

SEYMOUR, CT: Joetta D. Fredericks, age 89 of Seymour entered peaceful rest on February 19, 2017 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; She was the beloved wife of the late David E. Fredericks. Mrs. Fredericks was born on June 28, 1927 in Passaic, New Jersey, daughter of the late A. Andrew and Gayle (Viles) D'Andrea. She was retired from the Griffin Hospital Billing Department. Joetta was an active communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church where she served in many capacities including Altar Guild, Choir, Episcopal Church Women, Vestry and Deanery. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and Visitor. Joetta was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge. She and David enjoyed travelling, especially to England and Scotland which they visited many times. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and took pleasure in feeding the birds and spending time with her friends and family. She volunteered in many capacities over the years as a Brownie Leader, for the Seymour Library and the Seymour Historical Society.

Joetta leaves her loving family including daughter, Wendy Picardo (Henry) of Seymour, her sister, Marie Berndtson of N. Reading, MA, grandsons James Picardo of Seymour, and Andrew Picardo of Hamden; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She shared an especially strong bond with nieces Eileen Fredericks of Stratford, and Nan Yale of Traphill, NC. Her son Mark Fredericks and sister, Dolores Quinn predeceased her.

Calling Hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Funeral Service of Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St., Seymour. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be made to The Society of St. Margaret, P.O. Box C, Duxbury, MA 02331-0605(for their mission in Haiti.)
