Obituary for Thomas C. Creighton

SEYMOUR - Thomas C. Creighton, age 87 of Seymour, loving husband of the late Barbara (Friborg) Creighton, entered peaceful rest on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Bishop Wicke Rehabilitation Center, Shelton. Thomas was born on April 5, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late Thomas A. and Eva Creighton. He retired in 1991 from CL&P. Starting as a laborer at age 16, he left as an engineer having used his GI Bill to earn an Associate's Degree from New Haven College. US Army veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Creighton went on to be an active member of the American Legion. He was a past Commander of Anderson-Dunn-Kochiss Post 42 in Stratford. Mr. Creighton was an avid golfer and was also a former member of the Connecticut Yankees Drum and Bugle Corp. Survivors include his beloved daughter, Kathleen Creighton of Seymour; two adored grandchildren, Audrey and Steven Lenhard, as well as his nephew, Wayne Cox. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Gloria Cox, and his nephews, Russell and Clifford Cox. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home. 161 West Church St. Seymour, with a prayer service taking place at 4:30. Interment with full military honors will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 11:00 am DIRECTLY in Mt. Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
