Life Story for Edward J. Taraskewich Sr.

SEYMOUR, CT: Edward J. Taraskewich, Sr. Our Dad Ed Taraskewich passed away on October.5th. Although we are so sad at this time, we are comforted that he is reunited with the love of his life Myrna. The youngest of 10 children, he grew up in Dunmore PA with his parents Maryanne and Casmir Taraskewich. After moving to Seymour as a teenager, he enlisted in the US Air Force on December 29, 1950 and was deployed to Korea. He was a member of Emil Senger, Post 10 American Legion. He returned to Shaw Air Force Base Sumter SC where he meet our Mom. They moved to Seymour in 1954, had three children; Ed, Sharon & Michael. He was employed at BF Goodrich, Sponge Products & Seymour Specialty Wire and later at Woodhaven Golf Course where he enjoyed one of his favorite pastimes; golf. He spent many hours fly-fishing with friends and in later years with family.. He took great pleasure in making others laugh. He delighted in visiting with his grandchildren; Tara, Erin, Katy, Brad, Alek, Larissa, Michael, Kyle & Tessa and his great-grandchildren Lily and Violet. He was quite fond of his daughters-in-law Dianna & Gina and grateful for the support of Jay Gesek. Ed spent this last year as a patient at the Veterans Home in Rocky Hill and we have deep appreciation and gratitude to the staff who touched his heart and ours.
