AVONDALE, AZ, and SEYMOUR, CT: Mary Ellen (Skewes) St. Louis, age 79, of Avondale, Arizona, previously of Seymour, Connecticut, entered peaceful rest on October 29, 2017 is Seymour surrounded by her family. Mary Ellen was born June 23, 1938, in Manchester, Connecticut, daughter of the late Mary Gollmitzter Skewes and Grant W. Skewes who resided in Manchester, Connecticut.

Mrs. St. Louis is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Melvin St. Louis, daughter Tammy St. Louis Duxbury and her husband Andrew Duxbury in Virginia, daughter Melanie St. Louis in Florida and daughter Michele St. Louis Foster and her husband David J. Foster, Sr. of Seymour, Connecticut and her nine (9) grandchildren, Brent Coscia, Jessica Taylor, Maria Coscia, Sarah Duxbury, Chris Duxbury, David Foster, Jr., Emily Foster, Sean Foster and Cody Foster and three (3) great grandchildren, Cianna Nieves, Peyton Aho and Blaiden Coscia. Mary Ellen is also survived by her brother Grant Skewes, Jr., of Southington, Connecticut, sister Gloria Passardi, of Stafford Springs, Connecticut and brother Don Skewes, of Peoria, Arizona and eight (8) nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen worked for Griffin Hospital for over 25 years before retiring to Arizona. She loved to country line dance, coach girls little league and be involved with drum and bugle corp. and winter color guard. She loved to camp every weekend with her friends of Witch Meadow Lake Campground, Salem, CT, and travel to almost every state in the United States and much of Canada with her husband to attend camping rallies in their RV.

Calling Hours are Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Cemetery, Kingsbury Ave. and Route 74, Rockville/ Vernon, CT.
