Obituary for June Rapuano (Russell)

June (Russell) Rapuano, age 94 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Michael Rapuano, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Shelton on July 20, 1923, she was a daughter of the late William and Edna (Robillard) Russell. A talented seamstress well up into her 90’s, June also enjoyed sewing and gardening, but she was most fond of spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her loving daughters, Michelle Rozum and her husband Dennis, Susan Haversat and her husband James, and Nancy Kurdy and her husband John, as well as eleven adored grandchildren, eight cherished great grandchildren, one niece, three nephews, and her canary friend, Pete. In addition to her husband, June was predeceased by her son, Gary Rapuano; brother, William Russell, and her sister, Shirley Hannon. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, January 8, 2017 starting at 9 a.m. in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483, and at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Interment will follow in Mt. Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 7 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Rapuano’s name can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl.
