OXFORD, CT: Virginia C. "Ginger" Volkmar, 74 of Oxford entered into peaceful rest August 14, 2013 in Branford; she was the beloved wife of 49 years to Jay H. Volkmar. Mrs. Volkmar was born June 11, 1939 in Derby, daughter of the late Maurice and Elizabeth (Hager) Magner. Virginia was retired from Coram Health Care, Wallingford. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Ginger enjoyed quilting, gardening, playing the piano, and she loved the outdoors.

In addition to her husband, Virginia leaves her loving family including her son, Michael Volkmar (Beth) of Wilmington, NC, her daughter, Jennifer Manne (Karl) of Herkimer, NY, her sisters, Maureen Magner Lewis of Ann Arbor, MI, Joan Magner O'Neill of Clifton Park, NY, Mary Magner Caldwell of Alexandria, VA, Jacqueline Magner Parker of Tucson, AZ, and Cheryl Magner Dolan of La Quinta, CA, her grandchildren, John Edward Manne, Keri Manne, and Cole Volkmar, and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours are Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Funeral Services are Saturday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour.
