DERBY- Marlene (Sudvoy) Bruzas, age 79, beloved companion of the late Frank Watson, entered peaceful rest on Friday, May 13, 2016 in Derby with her family by her side. Born in Bridgeport on March 7, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Helen (Garbacik) Sudvoy. Upon her retirement as an accountant, Marlene volunteered at Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament (New Haven), VITA at the Plumb Library (Shelton) and did financial assistance at the Agency on Aging in New Haven. She will be remembered for her love of golf, tennis, and her sense of humor. Marlene kept herself busy and enjoyed life. She took time to listen to others, but would comment on how blessed she was to have a loving family and good friends who aided her through her life. Marlene is survived by her loving children, John Bruzas of Shelton, Lisa Bruzas of Derby, and was predeceased by her daughter Karen Eccleston. She is also survived by her brothers, Peter Sudvoy and his wife Helma of AZ, Stanley Sudvoy of FL, Victor Sudvoy and his wife Betty of FL, and Leo Sudvoy and his wife Janet of Huntington; son-in-law, Kenneth Eccleston of West Haven, as well as many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10 am DIRECTLY in St. Michael the Archangel Church 75 Derby Ave., Derby and inurnment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Calling hours will be held in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the American Lung Assoc. 45 Ash St, East Hartford, CT 06108 (www.lungforce.org).
